In Her Shoes movies

In Her Shoes just gets better as it goes. Personalized Erin Brockovich screenwriter Susannah Grant, this is one of the few movies that actually improves its source material (Jennifer Weiner "chick lit" bestseller), considered the direction of Curtis Hanson's LA Confidential Oscar ®-winner who approaches any usually chosen Hawksian versatility. At first glance it seems like Weiner's novel might generate standard melodrama of sibling rivalry, but the polar opposition, smart, simple looking Philadelphia lawyer Rose (Toni Collette always great) and her sexy, illiterate, irresponsible sister Maggie (Cameron Diaz ) is only a starting point. In Her Shoes becomes a moving, fully developed character study that deals with a painful loss, long-term guilt, negative self-image, discovery, and currently unknown grandmother named Ella (played with delicate Nuance Shirley MacLaine), whose return to life sisters' sets the stage for feelings of well-earned reconciliation meeting. Since Maggie drew a sad life to be with Ella in Florida "retirement home for active seniors," Hanson does not deign to these cute characters, and he never goes for easy laughs in an environment that could be incorporated into Cocoon-like comedy. The film even more appealing for the treatment of human character (played by Mark Feuerstein, Ken Howard, and Richard Burgi) and a depth of compassion that is the most heartbreaking class that viewers of both genders can thoroughly enjoy. -Jeff Shannon
